How to eat reasonably

The problem of overeating and overweight is topical for increasingly more people in our planet. People make less physical work, than in previous centuries but eat more. Today people eat not to satisfy their food demands but to get pleasure. This is the main cause of all our food problems. Many people when they look in the mirror are horrified by what they see there. It becomes the strong incentive for them to stick to a diet. Various diets can be very helpful and can really reduce one's weight but this effect is temporary, as many examples show. When a person violates the rules of his/her diet, he/she experiences the sense of guilt and begins to have doubts about his/her willpower. Such people are disappointed in themselves and depressed. Diets in general are very difficult to follow and thus they can be very painful for a person from the psychological point of view. This fact makes them doubtful with respect to benefit for one's health. If diets are not so effective as they seem, then what should a person do to lose his/her weight?

The best way to lose one's weight is to keep an eye on our wishes. A person should make a point of eating only in case of being hungry. It seems very simple and unpretentious to be effective enough to lose one's weight, but is really effective.

Think how often you eat and why. We often eat when we watch TV, and in these cases we can't control the amount of food eaten by us. Besides, we eat for example chocolate when we are sad, we can also eat to keep somebody's company, etc. Thus we gain the habit of gluttony unnoticeably and unconsciously. If we look at our eating habit sincerely, we can notice that hunger is far not the main reason for eating in the majority of cases. We mostly eat when we want to get pleasure from this kind of pastime. In such cases our food doesn't bring any profit to our body. On the contrary it turns to poison and spoils our digestive system and appearance.

That is why if you want to improve your situation, you should control your eating habit. Keep a journal and write there what you eat, how much you eat and, the most important, how often you do it. Weigh yourself regularly in the morning on an empty stomach and in the evening before you go to bed. Write these figures into you journal too. These procedures will make you more conscious with respect to your eating habit. Don't forget that the easiest and cheapest way to reduce your weight is the method of self-control.
